watching the sea

(I and AI watching the sea together)

The work deals with the relationship between human and artificial vision in an age in which we are starting to confront Artificial Intelligence.
Our eye and that of the machine look for different things, and here they confront each other in front of the same scene.
The vision of the machine is made evident by the “interest points” that follow the ripples on the water, by the red lines that trace the horizon, by the vectors that detect the movement of the waves. They are basic functions of a computer vision system that extracts the data that will be used for more complex subsequent processing.
We look at the sea, together, and each with their own eyes, with their own thoughts.
The video is made with the camera of a smart phone, experimenting new visions directly in everyday life, in an intimate experience outside the research laboratories. The music itself is algorithmically generated.
